The very best to all of you in the coming year. It's been a good year for me, especially since I wasn't supposed to make it this far, and I'm looking forward to many more.

My only resolution is to make each day count, in no matter how small a way. I also resolve to stop being such a stranger, because you guys are important to me.

Hi guys. Once again I wasn't planning on posting, but L'il Bear has been moping around here for a couple of days so I finally asked him what was bugging him. It seems he's a little put out because I didn't give him a chance to say Merry Xmas the other day, so little fella, the floor's all yours.

Yip Yip Woof Woof Wiggle Wiggle. Guess what?, he's gone back to sleep. Sheesh!

Another reason I showed up is to tell you about being taken for lunch by my son Bob. What an absolute pleasure it is to have a middle-aged son that you can talk with as an equal. No father-son competition, just mutual respect and love. He drops by when he can, and we talk on the phone a lot, but to be able to spend 3 hours alone means more to me than all the worldly goods I might have.

There will be 16 at the dinner table tomorrow, which will be great, but this was a special treat for me. I'm a blessed man in so many ways. A life that I look back on with pride, and a life I look forward to with hope. Add to that my blog family, and you can bet your boots this is a Merry Xmas for me.

So on that schmaltzy note I once again wish you all the best of this wonderful season.

You might want to stand back folks, I think I'm having a runaway. 2 posts in 2 days. Slow down big fella, you'll play yourself out.

I hadn't intended to post today, but I'm doing so out of a little bit of shame. When I half-jokingly said yesterday that I wondered if I was still welcome, I was not prepared for the reception I got, and for that I'm so grateful. I should never have doubted because time and time again you've proved to be friends. Consider me chastened.

If only more people would avail themselves of this medium. I'm convinced it would be a better world. Too many times we take things for granted in this life, and it is so reassuring to know that there are those who pay more than lip-service when one needs a little pick-me-up. You guys certainly do that for me. So once again, THANK YOU!

A certain someone told me to put my tree up, so because my heart is, and always has been, in the Yukon, I ran up there last night and did so. Wonder if this will finally get me that big ol' bowl of borscht?

Have a good week-end guys.

Hi guys. It's been so long since I've been here I wondered if I should throw my cap in first, but decided to just walk in and hope that I'm still welcome.

I'm glad to be able to report that both Boop and I are doing well. She has recovered nicely from her ordeal, and I'm managing to keep Timmy in check. If it's true that a little adversity makes one stronger, watch out world, cuz her and I are butt-whuppers extraordinaire. Each time things like this happen it just makes me appreciate all the more what I have, and that includes knowing that my "blog family" are here for me. I so much appreciate the e-mails and phone calls. THANK YOU!

One such e-mail from a cherished friend this morning finally stirred me enough to get off my lazy heinie and at least make an effort to get into the season, including this post. Thanks to Boop the Xmas dinner etc. is looked after, and I've at least done the gift giving.

With everyone telling me to get into the spirit, I tried, but I'm not sure these are the spirits they meant.

Now that I've broken the ice, so to speak, I'll try to stay "up" and not be such a stranger. For those of you who might be too busy to stop by before the big day, please let me wish you a very Merry Merry and Happy Happy. You're a great bunch of people, and having you as friends is all the Xmas present I need.
